It uses the same super fast Zen 3 architecture as the high-end Ryzen chips, meaning a nice 19% single-threaded boost over the previous Zen 2 models. Being unlocked also means you can overclock it to squeeze out some extra speeds. It’s got 6 cores and 12 threads with a nice chunk of L3 cache too. Only small downside is the clock frequencies don’t have quite as much headroom as some others at 0.5GHz. For being a lower cost chip the integrated graphics are definitely a bonus, though the PCIe lanes are only 3.0 unlike the full desktop Ryzen CPUs. Still packs dual-channel DDR4-3200 memory support though.
Comes with a decent little stock AMD cooler to keep it under 95C. Default 65W TDP power draw is pretty efficient. Works with AMD 400 and 500 series boards too via the AM4 socket. Overall it’s hands down one of the best bargain CPUs out there, especially if you don’t have a dedicated GPU yet. Great performer for the price.

Specification-wise it’s packing 6 cores, 12 threads and a 12MB cache. Clocks in at 3.9GHz base up to a 4.6GHz max boost, which is pretty quick. Includes their UHD integrated graphics too. While a bit pricier than AMD’s Ryzen 5600X, performance is pretty comparable. Also improved over Intel’s previous 10th gen chips in multiple ways like memory bandwidth.
One downside is its power efficiency – at 125W TDP it runs hotter under load than AMD options. So you’ll want a good cooler to handle the heat it can produce.
